Some of the guys decided it would be fun to try and do a beach camping day the Arab way and roast a lamb over the fire. Steve had some of his welders at work make huge metal A-frames to support the spit. They spent all morning building the fire up and getting the lamb ready for roasting. 
I brought Jaydon up later and he had a great time playing in the water. At one point a piece of seaweed touched his foot and he yelped like I've never heard him and ran out of the water. He kept telling us how the "Plant scared his foot" which was a pretty cute way to explain it. 
He made a few sand castles, or should I say others made a few sand castles and Jaydon destroyed them. 
He also had fun throwing the ball for Athena a couple people in the group are taking a photography class and used Jaydon and Athena as there models for the class assignment - I thought they ended up getting some really good pictures of the two. 
The only downside of the day was the wind. This picture is telling and it blew that hard all day. 
The group planning to camp out whittled down to 1 person by the end of the night as people gave up on the cold windy adventure (we went home for bedtime).Jaydon still talks about the day went to the beach, it's usually prompted by someone talking about a lamb which he will promptly pipe in with "Lamb goes on the fire, fire is hot, no touch, daddy cooked Jaydon hotdog on the fire". It's one complete thought for him and sums up our day at the beach.
On Sunday morning when I dropped him off at Starfish they had already decorated for him. I had baked enough cupcakes on Thursday that we had enough for his party, his school party, and I still had to bring a bunch to work. 
(2 batches is way too many when you do orange and party confetti flavored - I have a feeling I would not have had such a hard time getting ride of them if they had been chocolate). 
The next few weeks were spent opening up his many presents. 
And playing with all the leftover balloons. He also got a big birthday hug from his nanny 
The pinata was a big hit (haha) unfortunately it wasn't until after all the kids and parents tried smacking it that we realized it was a 'pull the ribbon' kind that opened a secret door. 
Apparently you weren't even supposed to hit it just pull ribbons - what fun is that? I guess we'll read the instructions closer next time:)

Currently Jaydon's favorite color is orange which worked perfect for theme. 
So he got orange cupcakes with orange frosting (of course when Steve saw the cupcakes he asked why I put pink frosting on them... after 20 minutes of mixing red and yellow food coloring they looked orange to me). 
We brought the ball pit out to the party and added balloons to the fun.

We never realized how many he had until we collected them all up for the party.

When we finally got the pinata open all the kids had a great time collecting up goodies, however Jaydon was very concerned that the pinata was now broken and the insides had come out. 
It's taken a couple parties since then but he now understands that you re supposed to break the pinata.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAYDON!
Once it was all finished he had more interest in the strawberries and maple syrup but I was able to put the extra waffles in the freezer for later. 
The previous night Jaydon got to open his presents from us. 
Steve used the opportunity to buy Jaydon the biggest set of duplo leggos he could find. 
They spent the night building and destroying towers. 
Jaydon also got a big kids tricycle. 
Steve spent 2 weeks looking for one but could only find poor quality ones. He finally found this one and was hoping it would be small enough (age said 3 and up) but Jaydon's legs are still just a little too short. He will just have to grow into it.
Next task was decorating for the party. It must be Jaydon's birthday if he's having cupcakes while still in his jammies! 
The theme for his party was construction tractors. Living in Doha has really taken it's toll on Jaydon - he loves digging and scopping and flatening and crane and any other kind of tractor out there. 
My mom was able to find some great decorations for us back in the US and filled up an entire suitcase of stuff for when we met up with her in Spain. 
She even found kids size plastic construction hard hats and Grandpa took the opportunity to personalize Connor Construction logo stickers for each hat. 
Steve borrowed a few cones from his job site and with a bunch of orange ballons (Jaydons favorite color) and way too many cupcakes we were ready for a big birthday bash. 
Heidi brought Jaydon a tractor balloon which was a big hit at the Bennigan's playground.

Steve and Jacob are having a good'ole time, actually I think Steve is trying to avoid getting speghetti thrown on him. 
Jaydon's blows out his candle and Abby is thrilled to be able to help him with his ice cream and brownie.
Three families were able to join us, a few are still a little young to eat 
Jacob brought along his uncle who was in town for the weekend. 
Heidi enjoyed munching down her baby food in the new place full of distractions. Abby and her little brother Nat also joined us but I never got a good pic of the 2 together.
